Ribbon is a special ink ribbon designed for a thermal transfer printer. In its purpose and properties, the ink ribbon is somewhat similar to carbon paper. Ribbon is available in black, green, blue, red, gold and metallic colors.
Thermal transfer ribbons come in different forms. Thermal transfer printers use two types of print heads - Flat Head and Corner and Near Edge. Therefore, when choosing a ribbon, you need to know what type of thermal head is used in the printer (or ask the manager to select the necessary ribbon, telling him the printer model).
Next, you need to choose from three families of ribbons, divided by paint composition. All ribbons are made using wax-based inks (WAX), a mixture of wax paint and polymer (WAX/RESIN) and based on polymer dyes (RESIN). At this stage, the ribbon is selected based on the material on which you will print.
